Back in April 1987, a computer scientist in a lab near Stanford started crafting a software application that would change how people communicate. It launched three years later as PowerPoint 1.0.

To get PowerPoint off the ground, Apple’s Strategic Investment Group funded the project, and ironically in July 1987, PowerPoint was acquired by Microsoft for $14m.

Since then, Microsoft PowerPoint has witnessed the freedom of Nelson Mandela, The Iraq War, Leicester City winning the Premier League, and Donald Trump becoming the President of the United States…
